Last Will and Testament

A Last Will and Testament sets out how your property and assets are distributed upon death, including real property, specific bequests, the residuary estate, intentional exclusions, and the appointment of an executor. Our $200 flat fee per will includes preparation of the will, notary services for the testator or testatrix and required witnesses, and certified copies as needed. Married couples are strongly encouraged to execute separate wills, as joint wills can restrict changes after one spouse’s death, while separate wills allow each party to amend their wishes independently. A will may be lodged with the court for safekeeping for an additional fee (approximately $11 in the Fourth Judicial District), though lodging is optional and many individuals choose to retain the original will in a secure location. This service is limited to document preparation and execution formalities and does not include legal advice or estate administration.

Living Will/Advanced Directive 
Fee: $150.00

 

A Living Will, also known as an Advance Directive, allows you to clearly state your wishes regarding medical treatment and life-sustaining care if you become unable to communicate those decisions yourself. This document addresses matters such as end-of-life care, artificial life support, resuscitation preferences, and other health care instructions, ensuring your wishes are known and respected. The $150 flat fee includes preparation of the Living Will / Advance Directive, notary services, and certified copies as needed. This document is not filed with the court; however, as part of our fee, we assist with securely uploading your completed documents to the Nevada Lockbox, a free, state-maintained electronic registry that allows authorized medical providers to access your advance directive, durable power of attorney for health care, DNR orders, and life-sustaining treatment preferences in an emergency. Individuals who register receive a wallet card so first responders and medical personnel can quickly locate and verify their documents when needed. This service is limited to document preparation and registry assistance and does not include legal advice.

​Codicil 

Fee: $150.00

A Codicil is a written amendment used to make changes to an existing Last Will and Testament without drafting a new will. The $100 flat fee includes preparation of the codicil reflecting any number of requested changes, notary services for the testator or testatrix and required witnesses, and certified copies as needed. A codicil must be executed with the same formalities as a will and becomes part of the original will once properly signed and notarized. This service is limited to document preparation and execution formalities and does not include legal advice or estate administration.
